Orders and payment
An order in SmartPart tracks two things that move independently: where the goods are, and where the money is.
Two axes, on purpose
An order can be paid for but not yet made. It can be delivered and later refunded. It can be cancelled while the payment stands, waiting to be returned. Collapsing that into a single status is what produces states like paid-but-cancelled later on, so SmartPart keeps them apart from the start:
| Axis | Question it answers | Documented in |
|---|---|---|
| Fulfilment | Where are the goods? | Fulfilment states |
| Financial | Where is the money? | This page |
Each axis has its own states and its own rules about what may follow what.
Payment states
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Checkout started, no result from the payment provider yet. |
| Unverified | Your browser came back from the provider, but the provider has not confirmed the payment to SmartPart directly. |
| Paid | Confirmed by the provider. |
| Partially refunded | Some money returned; the rest stands. |
| Refunded | All money returned. |
| Failed | The provider declined or abandoned the payment. |
These group into three phases â awaiting, settled and reversed â which is what staff filter by when they want "everything that has not settled" without caring which of the three reasons applies.
Why "unverified" exists
Coming back from the payment page is not proof of payment. The browser's return is a redirect, and a redirect can be replayed, interrupted, or arrive before the provider has finished.
SmartPart therefore treats the redirect as a claim and waits for the provider's own server-to-server confirmation before calling an order paid. Until that arrives the order sits at Unverified, and is treated as unpaid.
If you have paid and your order still shows as unverified some minutes later, it is worth contacting support with the order number rather than paying again.

Refunded is the end of the line. Everything else can still move: a failed payment can be retried, and a late confirmation from the provider can still settle an order that had been written off.
Refunds
Refunds happen on this axis alone. Cancelling an order does not move money by itself â it records that the goods will not be delivered, and the refund is then made against the payment. That is why a cancelled order can still show as paid for a short while.
Finding your orders
Account â Purchases lists everything you have bought, most recent first. Each entry opens the order's own page, showing both axes: what is happening to the goods, and what has happened to the payment.
